The Student
The story of the student is one of the most iconic because of its impact on the fandom at the time.
In April-May 2012, infamous fandom member Rachel was notorious for making claims about her connections with friends of the royals and would sometimes drop unproven information.
Meanwhile over on the ohnotheydidnt live journal, someone who I'll call G learnt about Rachel and her claims to have inside information.So G decided to start anoning Rachel asking if she’d heard about Harry dating a student and planting random bits of information. This student was created by G. Rachel said she had heard about the student and went on to confirm the things that her anon was telling her on the regular.There are no receipts from those blogs because both Rachel and the Student deleted those blogs.
But here's mrharrywales discussing some of the details.
The story escalated, not helped by the fact Harry was spotted in Oxford, leading people to speculate he was there to see the student. The fandom were generally dubious though and Rachel got a lot of questions and "hate" calling her a liar etc. Then out of nowhere, willsandcatherine's aristocratic boyfriend confirmed the story! His blog was henners-xd. Here he is talking about how he was ALSO told there was a student.
This made the story believable for a larger number of people because why would 2 people lie right?...As it turns out Lord Henry turned out to be non-existant and a creation of willsandcatherine (see Catfish section).
Eventually G made a blog thetruestudent firstly claiming to BE the student (Giovanna). Then she revealed that she’d been anoning Rachel and Rachel had been agreeing about a story that was totally untrue.

Hi, could you explain in portgues (if possible), what confusion is this of journalists and I do not know what more than Prince Harry? I'm totally confused here :(
As a journalist?
Do you mean the confusion with the student?
Someone sent an anonymous message to another royal family blog saying that Harry was dating a student. The owner of this blog that says she has friends who work with Harry confirmed the story.
The anonymous continued to send messages about this student and the owner of the blog was agreeing with everything until an hour arrived that the anonymous decided to open a blog and tell that it was she (and) who INVENTED the story of Harry being dating a student to to prove to people that the owner of this blog was a liar.
Despite this the owner of the blog remains firm and strong with the story.
The problem is that the owner of the blog is one of my friends and she does not usually lie. She is very cool and good people then, or her friends heard rumors of the internet or eh that other person (anonymous) that is lying.
Willsandcatherine was exposed for having a fake Lord boyfriend and deleted around this time too.
The fandom lost its shit with happiness that Rachel had been slayed and exposed. However rach being rach went into denial mode and said THERE WAS a student, just not the same one G had made up.
In a twist of fate, Harry did end up dating a student - Cressida Bonas. But Rachel didn’t live it down for a very long time.
@thetruestudent became a hero and remains a queen in my eyes. Rach maintained her innocence and changed her url.
